I am walking 52.4miles in the Heineken Race to the Tower in the Cotswolds on 8th June 2019 and doing it in 1 day!! 

Our amazing little boy Logan was diagnosed with ALL (leukaemia) in May 2014, at the tender age of just 3. He had a hickman line put into his chest that sat in a main artery next to his heart, with 2 lumins hanging out of his body, our little boy and us had to make sure this was kept safe and clean for 3.5 years, it got a hole in it at one point, no one's fault, it was inside his body, and so he told us he could feel his treatment shooting out into his neck! He had to undergo a second major surgery to have it removed and a second one put in to the other side of his body!  He had to endure 3 and 1/2years of an immense amount of treatment, Around 1200 doses of chemotherapy in the form of, pre warned, very painful jabs direct in the thigh muscle, huge bags, courses of intense direct through his Hickman line on consecutive days, straight into the spinal fluid with 25 lumber punctures, daily oral, weekly oral, monthly direct into the Hickman line. He had around 900 doses of extremely strong steroids and he picked up every bacterial and viral infection going, fighting even the higher risk killers during treatment of chicken pox and flu :( which meant we spent a lot of time in a side room in hospital hooked up to antibiotics going direct into his hickman line. And he had to take, without fail, antibiotics every single weekend throughout treatment and for a few months even after treatment.

I have been part of and seen the devastating effects childhood cancer causes, for my own child and family but also for so many other children and families I have met over the years. 

There is not enough awareness of childhood cancer, it is just a taboo subject! and there isn’t enough research on finding cures and kinder treatments for children. So having leukaemia in our family I wanted to raise money for cure leukaemia and having a child fight cancer I know how wonderful children’s cancer charities are, our children fighting cancer need help with so many things to try to one give them an as "normal" a childhood as possible, like logan having been given a dry suit so he could go in water with his Hickman line ❤️ children get entertainment for all the many days they are confined to a hospifal bed, And breaks for the whole family as it is the whole family that have to go through such horrendous times. Rays of sunshine is a wonderful charity!
