Story

As Ed and I have been living together for a while now, our need for lots and lots of new things to start our married life together is not significant, therefore we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to support a charity very dear to our hearts.

When my brother James was 18 months old he was diagnosed with a life-threatening inherited disease called Cystic Fibrosis. In 2009, aged 24, he received a double lung transplant in a special procedure made possible by research funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and expertise held at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. This transplant has transformed his life and enabled him to be part of the world again.

Supporting James and my parents in the run up to his operation and throughout his recovery was the Freeman Heart and Lung Transplant Association. This is a voluntary association which aims to provide practical and emotional support to heart and lung transplant patients and their families, to educate the public on the need for transplantation and to support the Freeman Hospital in the provision of amenities for transplant patients. For more details of the incredible work they do, please visit their website: http://www.info.fhlta.org.uk/

Ed and I would like to invite you to join with us in saying thank you to the FHLTA for the support they have given my family to date and offer them a donation to help them continue with their excellent work.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
