My story

Dear all- I am doing a 55 mile bike ride for the Frank Haines Memorial Trust. The Charity set up in memory of my brother.

Please dig deep for the Trust. Here is some info:

Frank Haines Memorial Trust

Since Frank’s death in March 2006, thanks to money raised by hugely generous donations, past Frankstocks and people taking part in the Connemarathon the trust has raised £110,000

£60k of this has been committed to Oxford House in Bethnal Green to support youth work and a weekly theatre project until October 2009.

Another 50K has been split between another 5 East London charities. 

Toynbee Hall
Sailing trips with local underprivileged children - £20,000

SPLASH
After school leisure and sporting activities that keep young people off the streets in various inner city immigrant communities– £18,000

Urban Youth
After school youth centre for young people offering support on educational and emotional issues- £7,000

Bangladesh Football Association (BFA)
Football in the evenings for 10-14-year-olds of Bangladeshi origin in housing estates around East London- £4,000

Newark Youth
Evening football club in Shadwell for 11-15 year olds in a safe environment- £3,000

The Trust will support youth work in Tower Hamlets. Youth work provides a critical means of support, education and opportunity for young people. The Trustees will support one or more charities working with young people in East London, and make a donation to them with specific goals in mind. This will ensure that some good will come out of Frank’s tragic death.
