Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The ABF or otherwise known as The Soldiers’ Charity supports soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need. Over the past two years they have seen a 30% rise in people seeking help and expect this to increase with the continuing operations in Afghanistan. As a result of Current Operations it is anticipated that the requests for assistance will rise significantly in the coming years. It is the aim of The Soldiers’ Charity to increase fundraising to £14 million a year by 2015 to be sure that they can help each and every soldier that needs help. They depend entirely on donations and goodwill to achieve this.
As this is a charity very close to our heart at the moment with ongoing rehabilitation of Iain’s brother Alan and his close friend and colleague Garry at Headley Court and also the recent passing of their friend Daly McCallum, and the daily return of injured soldiers from Afghanistan with horrific injuries/loss of multiple limbs through IED devices we felt that this a very pertinent charity to raise funds to support.
