Mapei Day 2013 Stelvio Pass · 14 July 2013

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This Sunday 14th July I will attempt to cycle up the infamous Stelvio Pass in Italy. This is an event in the annual Mapei Sports day calendar open to professionals and novices alike and I will be riding with my Mapei  UK colleague Lee Manford and 3 like minded cyclists from Aedas Architects - Joe Huddleston, Egon Hansen and Thomas Kendall.

Its a 24.3km ride with a summit height of 2758m, total elevation of 1808m and an average gradient of 7.4%. Grueling and slightly daunting - for a cyclist who loves the flat Lincolnshire fens!

By representing Team Mapei UK at this International event we also hope to get to the top in a respectable time and also raise some money for this valuable charity.
