We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm going to be taking part in the FireFlies Tour of 2017, from 14th- 21st June.

If you know me you'll know I like riding my bike in the mountains so I'd forgive you for suspecting this challenge is one I may actually enjoy. Well, it's true that I would happily ride 140km with 4000m elevation in a single day in the Alps, but I would make sure I took it easy before and after. And I would hesitate to do it again the very next day, let alone do 8 back-to-back days just as hard, without care for the weather forecast...

The FireFlies take on 8 days of cycling from GENEVA To CANNES ->> riding 1,000 km & climbing a total of 28,512m, in all weathers, across "Les Grandes Alpes" in aid of Beating Blood Cancers. Inspired by the courage it takes to fight cancer, the riders tackle the most gruelling climbs of Le Tour de France. Dedicated to raising awareness and funds in the advertising, film & media industry, the Fireflies arrive at the Cannes Lions International AD Festival. Since 2001 The FireFlies have Fundraised to support clinical and scientific research into the causes and treatment of leukaemia and other blood cancers at the Hammersmith hospital in London.
