Eliza was a happy, healthy, content baby and developed normally until we realised at around 14 months that she was not reaching all her milestones.
She went on to have endless tests and we slowly watched her lose the ability to wave, point, sit unaided, feed herself and say any words. At the age of 3 we received the diagnosis of Rett Syndrome.
Most of all we would like Eliza to be able to speak and to tell us how she feels. We would love to hear her voice again. Her big brother, Angus, often reminds us that among other things, she used to be able to say "tractor" and "cucumber"! Her younger sister, Nina, does not remember Eliza ever speaking.
Rett Syndrome has stolen Eliza's ability to do almost all the things that she should be doing at age 7 - running, jumping, dancing, singing, telling stories, making friends and going on playdates.
Reverse Rett fund the scientists that are giving us hope for a cure. Please help them to help our little girl.
