The DNRC will provide clinical rehabilitation for the armed forces and civilians. It will combine neurological, complex trauma and a full suite of rehabilitative facilities together on one site, bringing benefits that could make the establishment unique in the world.

Story

When our Servicemen and women are injured, it is essential that they receive top quality care and, if possible, are returned to service quickly – as they cannot be replaced.

The DNRC are creating a 21st century replacement to the current facility, which originally opened in 1947, that will readily take account of the advances in technology and clinical research that promise to dramatically alter the nature of rehabilitation; such as bionics, neuroprosthetics, and regenerative medicine.

Over two thirds of the £300M target has already been raised, and through events like Prudential Ride London, the DNRC hopes to hit the target by the end of 2017.

As a keen cyclist, I am excited to take on this new challenge with 25,000 other fundraisers for a multitude of different charities. I take part in multiple charity events every year, but the Prudential Ride London is a first for me and my good friend Tom.

As 'Northern country bumpkins' in the big smog, it could be interesting, but we are certainly relishing the challenge!
