SMA is a genetic disease that affects motor neurones. 1:40 of us is a carrier and in its most severe form children rarely live beyond 2 – making SMA the leading genetic cause of death in babies and toddlers. The SMA Trust is solely dedicated to funding research into a cure and treatments for SMA

Story

This year Rowan would have been 5! She passed away at 18 months old from Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

SMA is the leading genetic cause of death of infants and toddlers

Because of this, for the 4th year we will be walking to remember Rowan and to celebrate her 5th birthday.
This page is where people can pay their £10 registration fee but also ask people to donate/sponsor them.

On the 29th May 2016 we will meet in The Sands car park (Holmfirth Sports centre) and walk our usual route to Dovestones reservoir in Greenfield we will then meet at the White Hart, Denby Dale for a raffle, cake, a collection and of course a well deserved drink all fundraising to support The SMA Trust in their work to find a cure and treatments for SMA.
