'Who cares for those who care for you?'
The ASBF is a small charity which is slowly gaining the support and recognition it deserves and so desperately needs.
Over the next year I will be rowing, running, swimming and walking in several different events raising money and awareness for the charity. These are all part of my training for a World record attempt in June 2010 and my 'Row for ASBF'.
As part of a 14 man crew we will be attempting to break a 115 year old world record for rowing across the North Atlantic from New York to Falmouth, a mere 3300 miles. We are attacking the record with a purpose built boat full of world class athletes with the latest technologies, but we are still at the mercy of the weather gods. The last boat to attempt this record capsized in the north
Atlantic!!! With the right weather the boat is capable of making the crossing in 45 days. The team will be rowing a tough two hours on and two hours off rota system for the entire crossing meaning that we will not only be fighting the cold ocean but also sleep deprivation and fatigue. The World record will be ratified by Guinness world records.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ambulance Services Benevolent Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
My target is £3 300, a pound for every painful mile across the atlantic, you can make a difference. So please sponsor me now!
