Each summer, the Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK) brings children from to the for recuperative holidays to build their immune systems, mobility, general health and well being. All are impoverished and many are in remission from cancer or have ongoing medical issues or special needs. Each visit impacts spectacularly and personally by giving each child who visits an additional 2 to 3 years of life by simply exposing them to fresh, clean air, untainted food and uncontaminated areas in which to live and play. The psychological boost is profound and the physical impact is extraordinary.
This year, I will be participating in the Great North Run on Sunday, September 20, in support of the Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK) and will be running bearing the charity’s and Beckwithshaw Saints Junior Football Club’s logos.
Please pledge your vital support by sponsoring me with as much or as little as you can afford to help change the lives of these innocent children, for whom suffering is an everyday reality. Every penny really does count.
