My Challenge: I ride on my push bike from Ho Chi Minh City(Saigon), to Angkor Wat (Cambodia), this November, a bloomin' long way, And Your Challenge: support my charity, Cash for Kids, by donating shed loads via Just Giving, think how good and righteous you'll feel! Please help me to meet my Challenge of raising £2,400 which will be donated to the Wave 105 FM Cash for Kids charity, whose trustees donate money to Barnado's (www.barnardos.org.uk) who play a massive role in supporting young adults leaving care. My dear friends and colleagues Some years ago I talked to another trader on Hayling.  He told me in detail how every year he donned a Father Christmas outfit and spent just a few hours visiting a local Children’s home trying to bring  some good will in to the kids lives.  While talking to one of the youngsters he asked the obvious question of the child; What do you want for Christmas?  The reply was humbling.  The young boy replied;  I would like my own face flannel.   I will never forget the emotion shown on the face of this hardened retailer as he retold this tale.  In these times of consumer led technologies it is shocking to me that something so simple should still be unavailable to young people living here on the south coast in the UK.     Barnardo’s;  What they do;  Whatever the issue from drug misuse to disability; youth crime to mental health; sexual abuse to domestic violence; child poverty to homelessness; Barnardo’s believes we can bring out the best in every child. Barnardo’s run 415 projects across the UK.  Barnardo's;  What they do in this area on the south coast uk. Portsmouth;  The U-Turn service for young people under the age of 18 who need help with keeping safe, dealing with relationships and issues affecting their lives. youne people can talk to staff about sexual health, sexual exploitation and get information to access services such as housing, benefits, education etc. The Miss-U Service provides support and advice to young people putting themselves at risk by going missing.   Fareham based;  Parent Voice is a specialist information and participation service for all parents and carers of children with disabilities and/or additional needs in Hampshire. Our aim is to provide families with the right information at the right time, according to need, and to enable families to have their say about local services. This includes helping parents and carers to influence the way existing services are developed and to identify where services are needed but do not currently exist.     I have been training for many months with my good friend and companion for the Challenge, Douglas Taylor.  We still have many miles to cycle before we get to The Far East, so please make it worth our while.  Of course, my Challenge in the Far East has a base cost; this has been met by me in full, including the £1,000 I have donated via Just Giving, your donations will go to straight to Cash for Kids.
