Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

This is our 5th Annual run for for the CF Trust Charity. We do it to raise much needed funds so they can continue their amazing research Into new drugs and treatments to keep those with the condition as fit and healthy as they can be and hopefully one day make CF stand for CURE FOUND !! We have raised over £15000.00 in the last 4 years !! It is my middle son Archie that has CF, on the outside he looks 'Normal' as do most young CF sufferers, so in a good way no-one knows there is anything wrong with him. The average life expectancy for someone born with CF now is still only into their late 30's....NO parent should outlive their child so please consider donating. Archie is such an amazing little boy who deals with his condition without a single complaint, he is an inspiration to all his family and friends, he is a funny little character with a great sense of humour, very sensitive and full of life. The 30 + tablets he takes daily is a way of life to him now, as is his daily physiotherapy treatments, fortnightly cough swabs and regular hospital visits. He never complains about his daily routine, he makes us all so proud :) Archie did the run last year and completed it in 63 minutes! This would be a great achievement for any 7 year old but for one with poorly lungs is amazing, he is a little Superstar!! The date for the run is June the 7th 2015 at 11am. The start is at the Waggoners on Burnley road and finishes at the Whitchaff on Bury road, Rawtenstall, it's just short of 10K.
