My name is Noveen Khan. I am running the 2018 Virgin Money London Marathon, that’s a whopping 26.2 miles (the longest distance I will have ever attempted to run). Having been selected to run with Penny Appeal will definitely­ be the most exhilarating and rewarding experiences of my life so I am extremely thankful to have been given this opportunity.

Now here comes the important part, we are all aware that safe, clean water is fundamental to human life. Yet did you know even today 1.8 billion people in developing countries in Africa and Asia use a water source that is contaminated with waterborne diseases like diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio. Together, these diseases kill an estimated 4,000 children every single day. 

This is where I am asking you to help me raise money to build a deep water well in Gambia, as this will transform a community’s health and prospects. This will also provide reliable access to safe and clean water for years to come. These deep water wells won’t just save thousands of lives every day, they will give an entire community the chance to stand on its own two feet.
