Story
I HATE RUNNING. I really do. And yet I have decided to run 10k for Macmillan Cancer Support. Have I lost the plot?
1 in 3 of us will develop some form of cancer during our lifetime. That's an upsetting sentence to read and it's the reason I am so glad that Macmillan Cancer Support exists.
This is why I am running the Leeds 10k. It's why I choose to torture myself at the gym and spend my evenings as a sweaty mess on the treadmill. And if nobody sponsors me, I won't have made a difference to the cause that I truly believe in. Any donation you can make, even just 50p or £1, would mean so much to me and to the people Macmillan supports.
Macmillan makes a big difference to the lives of people affected by cancer. That's not just people who are living with cancer personally - Macmillan supports their friends, family, and carers too, as well as people who have suffered loss due to cancer.
Macmillan provides cancer information, trains specialist cancer care nurses, provides grants to those struggling financially due to the costs of living with cancer, campaigns for better cancer care, champions the views of people affected by cancer, provides emotional and bereavement support, and inspires people to help make a difference.
Please, please donate whatever you can, even if it's just 50p or £1 - every penny helps change lives.
