Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2017 · 8 October 2017 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of the NSPCC.

As you will know, I am far more accustomed to the use of 4 equine legs as a means of transport than I am to using 2 of my own. 13.1 miles is therefore a long way for me to contemplate running! In fact when my colleagues suggested this Half Marathon would be 'a good thing to do', my initial response was a definite 'No'. After a couple of days of incessant nagging (they called it gentle persuasion) I eventually agreed to sign up.

We have put together an 8 week training plan in order to try and focus ourselves on the task in hand. Come back to this page to read the updates on how the training is progressing.

I would be extremely grateful if you could spare even a small amount of money for the NSPCC. This will help keep me focused to continue training over the next 8 weeks and also help motivate me through the miles on race day.
