Bath Half Marathon 2013 · 3 March 2013 ·

The Shakespeare Hospice offers specialised care and support to patients, their loved ones and carers across South Warwickshire and the surrounding areas. Our reach extends beyond the traditional Hospice walls, providing expert support within our local community and patients’ own homes.

Story

Thank you so much for smashing our target!! We are astounded by the generosity shown by everyone, more money means that the hospice can support more families so please continue to donate if you can.

Keevills as you may know, are genetically suited to all-day drinking sessions and high protein diets, so it might seem like an unusual (some would say unwise) choice to put us out on the streets of Bath and make us run 20 kilometres on some frosty March morning. Despite this, we've gone and booked ourselves onto the 2013 Bath Half Marathon, in an attempt to trump our genetic blueprint and raise some much deserved money along the way.

So on the 3rd March, Sophie and I will be running through Bath in support of Hospice at Home. During the last few weeks of dad's life, Hospice at Home made it possible for him to remain in a place which he loved, whilst providing all of the necessary care and provisions that ensured his remaining days were comfortable.

It goes without saying, but the significance of this cannot be understated. The charity ensured that we were made to feel comfortable in looking after dad's condition, which, as you can imagine, provided relief during an incredibly difficult time. They provide similar support to countless other families who have had the awful misfortune of having to look after a terminal loved one.

Sophie, mum and I know that without this invaluable help, we, and numerous other people, wouldn't have been able to give the adequate support and care necessary to allow our loved ones to spend their remaining time in the place that they want to. Hospice at Home gave dad the dignity to spend his last weeks surrounded by people who loved him and gave us the chance to spend precious time with him as a dad, rather than a cancer patient.

So, whether it be a penny, pound or more, please give whatever you feel you can to support this incredible, vital charity.

Thank you so much for your support - see you at the finish line!
