Dear all,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On the 8th June 2010 i will be undertaking the grueling 5 peaks challenge. This challenge aims to raise over £3000 for Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team, by climbing the five largest peaks in each of the five countries in the British Isles in 48 HOURS: Ben Nevis (Scotland -1344m, 4406ft), Scafell Pike (England -978m, 3209ft), Snowdon (Wales -1085m, 3560ft), Slieve Donard (Northern Ireland - 849m, 2786ft) and Carrauntoohil (Ireland - 1038m, 3406ft). The charity my friends and i are raising money for is the Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue team which consists of about 50 volunteers, all on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All the volunteers have full time jobs and meet almost all their own expenses. The Team typically responds to between 40 and 50 requests for help every year. Donations are required to buy the vital equipment needed to assist in the search and rescue of individuals, and large scale environmental disasters such as the flooding seen recently in the North East. This charity relies entirely on public donations for its survival and has become an integral part of the safety for local communities in county Durham. Any donation no matter how small will be greatly appreciated and greatly aid the team in their efforts to provide the best service possible.

Thanks very much,

Rupert
