Story
On June 30th I will be running the Safaricom half marathon at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Northern Kenya to raise money for Tumaini Trust.
Tumaini Education Trust was set up by a great friend of mine to care for children affected by HIV in Kenya. Over the last few years the school has proven to be very successful and has rapidly increased in size. The charity has grown from strength to strength and to find out more about the fantastic projects they run please have a look at their website: www.tumainitrust.org
Regardless of having the experience of running the London Marathon way back in 2008 this half marathon will be no easy feat! The course lies on the equator at an average altitude of 5,500ft. My feet will be trotting at speed through a scorching world intimately shared with an uncomfortable number of stealthy predators including lions, hyenas, black rhinos...
It's less than 36 days away and so I am asking for your sponsorship to help a really deserving cause. I would like each sponsor to sign my running shirt at a time I will organise with each of you individually.
Please use this webpage to securely donate to the charity through JustGiving who will also arrange for Gift Aid to be reclaimed where eligible.
A huge thank you for taking the time to read this, every little helps the Charity so please dig as deep as you can!
Rupert
