Marathon Update

I finished the very gruelling London Marathon in 4hrs 11 minutes on Sunday and literally fell over the finish line. It was a really hot day and after the 9 mile stage I realised there was no way I'd beat my personal best (3hr41). After 16 miles and an attack of cramp as well as groin pain, I questioned whether I'd be able to finish the run at all.

The last 3 miles were just a hazy blur. I was running past iconic building like the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace but I may as well have been running around a supermarket car park for all I cared. I was in pain and I wanted it to be over.

The amazing support on the day and your very generous donations got me through the pain and over the finish line.

Thank you for all of your best wishes and financial support. The team at Safe@Last are absolutely delighted with the amount we've raised.

Many thanks!
