As many of you know, I've spent nearly five months in the Philippines volunteering for All Hands. First in Bohol, responding to an earthquake and now I'm in Tacloban, where the Super Typhoon hit last year, digging ditches, clearing debris and building transitional homes.
The typhoon was so devastating that it destroyed or severely damaged 1.1 million homes. Huge progress has been made over the past nine months on the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure nears 50%.
All Hands has been working tirelessly to rehouse those affected with the minimum amount of disruption to their lives. So, on August 31st, some 40 volunteers will be running in the Philippine sun to raise enough money to build a house. I personally would really like to raise ten pounds for every kilometre I'm running. Please support Tacloban's Fun Run and together we'll be able to build a house for an affected family. Thank you.
