Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page

After many cold wet mornings stood next to the River Thames watching the Henley Juniors rowing I have decided that surely there can't be much to this rowing lark......??!!! Famous last words eh...!

In April 2018, I will be part of a team rowing across the North Sea from Ramsgate to Nieuwpoort (Belgium) in an effort to raise money for Age UK.

Despite being cold, wet, blistered and seasick we are aiming to complete the row in under 24 hours. Its a long way to go to get some duty free perfume for Heather but it was the only way that she would let me go...

The aim of this madness is to increase awareness and raise money for the great work that Age UK do to combat loneliness and improve health and wellbeing in old age. Loneliness causes depression, increases the likelihood of strokes and heart attacks by a third, and doubles the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

If you are able to, then we would be grateful for any donations you can manage ....

Thanks for your support

Russell
