My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It has always been an ambition of mine to run the greatest marathon in the World, the Virgin London Marathon. To be given the chance to do this in the Olympic year for London, 2012 is a great honour. One that I won't take lightly. On 22 April 2012, I will don my running shoes to run 26.2 miles and as I obtained my place through the ballot, I do not have the pressure of a fundraising target from my chosen charity. However, I want to raise £1,000 for WellChild
Why Wellchild?
WellChild is the national charity for sick children. There aim is simple – they are working to support children and young people throughout the UK as they deal with the consequences of serious illness and complex conditions.
WellChild focus on three key areas of care, support and research, and they work with their incredible WellChild Nurses, some of the top medical researchers in the country and their fantastic volunteers to make a positive difference to the lives of children who need us now and in the future. Wellchild have a supportive Patron in Prince Harry, a skilled team of staff at our Cheltenham HQ, a committed Board of Trustees, some essential expertise through the dedicated members of their advisory panels, and the profile of their celebrity supporters. All of this – together with the generosity and support of members of the public (YOU!) right across the UK – contributes to the growing success of WellChild.
