Ruth does a Triple Triple 5K

Swimathon 2020 · 27 March 2020 to 31 December 2020 ·
Right. I am doing Swimathon again. Last year, I did a Triple 5k - three 5k swims over two days. This time, because I'm an overachiever, AND because cancer is terrible and I want to raise money for research and care, I am doing a Triple Triple 5k. I am going to swim nine 5k swims over ten days at the end of March.
I can, I hope, do the swims, but I need your help to raise the money. 1 in 2 of us is going to be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. I have a really hard time getting my head round that statistic. I know people who have cancer. I know people who have survived cancer. I also knew people who didn't. We all do. I'm going to leave this here and ask you to give a little bit if you feel able. Many thanks and chloriney hugs xx
Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity is dedicated to saving lives through funding research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Cancer Research UK are the only charity fighting over 200 cancer types but don't receive any government funding for their work, so their progress is all thanks to the support of people like you.
Marie Curie provides expert care, guidance and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Around 2,100 Marie Curie Nurses work day and night, in people’s homes all over the UK, providing hands-on care to people when they need it most.
Together we can really make a difference. We invite our swimmers to tell their story to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for these two incredible causes.
