I'm joining some colleagues from work and we are abseiling 175ft down the Premier Inn in Bristol on Saturday 26th September. We are raising money for the CaRE Appeal (Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Environment Appeal) to help upgrade the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre for the hundreds of cancer patients that pass through our doors every day. Having worked in this regional Cancer Centre for many years, currently as the Matron, I am only too aware of the importance of upgrading our hospital so that the environment reflects the standard of care we are giving. It is great that many staff are joining in this event to help contribute to the remaining £500,000.00 needed to complete the £2.4Million funding for this exciting project.
