At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Those of you that know me are aware that recently I have become one of those people I used to laugh at - a lycra wearing, turbo training, slightly obsessed cyclist!

As such this year Ride100 is one of my challenges - the others being the Tour of Wessex and 4 of the Castle series triathlons. Whilst I am very much looking forwards to the cycle - the atmosphere, the route and being able to wallow in bike envy, I am keen to raise as much money as possible for what is a great cause, greatly improving the lives of those with dementia.

As I train through the lovely British weather (or sit on my turbo in front of the TV!) I will be thinking about the small changes the money I raise can make:

Providing a few more dementia guides to help with understanding and clarity for those when they are first diagnosed, or ensuring that Alzheimer's Society can put more money towards the Innovation Fund to help pilot vital new services.

Please donate as much or as little as you feel appropriate.
