Bupa Great South Run 2010 · 24 October 2010 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

On Sunday 24th October I will be taking part in the Great South Run to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer.  This is a subject that means a lot to me and my family. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all types of cancer, mainly because the pancreas is hidden deep in our body. This, together with the fact that early symptoms are similar to many common digestive complaints, mean that diagnosis comes too late for most sufferers. Pancreatic Cancer.org is researching better and more efficient methods of detection and treatment and also provides much needed support for sufferers and loved ones.
