In August I'll be taking on the challenge of riding a horse across the tough and rugged Canadian wilderness for 5 days.

We'll be riding for up to 6 hours each day (ouch!) over undefined trails, camping at night, washing in lakes, using pack horses to carry all our equipment for the week and keeping a sharp eye out for bears and wolves!

The purpose of this ride is to raise money for World Horse Welfare.

World Horse Welfare is active in many conutries around the world as well as in the UK. Their work covers many aspects from rehabilitating abused and negelcted horses, ponies and donkeys to educating people overseas on how to care for their horses. In the UK alone, more and more horses and ponies are being abandoned and left to suffer as people struggle with the increasing costs of keeping them.
