Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Cancer is never about one person's suffering. The lives of friends and family all fall victim to its gravity. Noone should have to go through it alone - not the victims, not their loved ones. That's why the work of Macmillan is so important.

No less so than in the case of the wonderful Carol Laird. Her warm and bubbly personality, even through repeated treatments and disappointments, was inspirational. She is still a light to us all. This year, I'm running the Great Scottish Run in memory of Carol, and also the wonderful support Macmillan nurses gave her and her husband Alan, allowing them to enjoy their time together.

I finished my first half-marathon in Edinburgh last year, after a mere six months of training and no previous race experience. You lot were such a massive help. Through donations and suggesting songs for my run playlist, you raised a whopping £431 for Mind - The Mental Health Charity. I'm nearly halfway through my training for this one. So what do you say? Shall we give it another go?
