Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Training has stepped up a notch over the last few weeks and I have been making the most of the sunny warm weather. I am on target will my training although juggling family, work and training is requiring more creative planning. I am now looking at all the things I need to take and how I am going to keep my luggage down to a minimum, not something us girlies find easy.
When my son, Charlie was born 7yrs ago my life was turned upside down and my husband, Jason and 18month daughter Jasmine and I began our adventure into unchartered waters. Charlie was born with Down's Syndrome and had a rocky start to life. Life has been a bumpy ride at time and we are now in a spell of calm water.
So when this challenge came up I saw it as a great way to give something back, get fit, use up some of my son's endless energy (I tag him behind me whenever I can) and have special time with my daughter on our tandem (she's a great training partner) as well as have great family cycle days out as part of my training.
I am doing this cycle from Cornwall to Paris to help Cornwall Down's Syndrome Support Group raise money for their "Special Fund". This special fund is a pot of money for the future to support the children and young adults across Cornwall for when they leave mainstream education and move into further education or the big wide world.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now, every pound you give flattens the Cornish hills making them a little less challenging.
Thank you for your support it is greatly appreciated
