Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 10th September 2009 after a very short but severe battle with lung cancer, my Grandad sadly passed away after a brave fight. Now those of you that know me know how much of an influence he was on my life, he was basically my Dad and I looked up to him every day.

Those of you that know me will also know that I'm not a runner by nature so this is entirely new to me. However ever since we lost Grandad I've always wanted to give something back to the nurses who did such a fantastic job in caring for my Grandad when he was very ill. God forbid if any of you are in this position in your lives, I hope some of the money I can raise will go into the care that these nurses give. So the charity in question is the Macmillian Cancer Support who employ the nurses in the hospital.

I'm also hoping to make a donation to Cancer Research UK as the way this illness took a hold of my Grandad (who was only 65) is heart-breaking and I hope that they can one day find a cure for it.

So to basics.......

Lincoln 10k Run on Sunday 21st March 2010

As I have said, the reasons are entirely charitable but rest assured I'm in the gym training hoping that I can get a good time - sub 1 hour would be brilliant.

Any donations in the memory of my Grandad, Cliff Hildred, would be so gratefully welcomed.

Thanks very much

Ryan
