Name:                    JOGLE CYCLE 2011 (John O’Groats to Lands End)

Category:               Sports & Recreation - Outdoor Sports

Description:       Charity challenge to raise money for Arthritis Research UK (http://www.justgiving.com/Rybaruk-Murray)

Hello everyone,

We hope this message finds you all well and in good health. In May of this year, 2011, Steven Rybaruk and Scott Murray will be unceremoniously dropped in John O’Groats, where we will then cycle all the way to Lands End. All this in aid of raising funds and awareness for ‘Arthritis Research UK’ (Registered Charity No. 207711, SC041156). Our aim is to raise £4,000 for the charity, and with your help we believe that total will be readily achievable. By funding high class research ‘Arthritis Research UK’ work to take the pain away from sufferers and help them remain active. (http://www.arthritisresearchuk.org/)

Arthritis affects 10’s of millions of people across the UK, and in 2008 when Scott was a mere fledgling of a 28yr old he was diagnosed with an inflammatory arthritis condition. For those close to Scott they may have seen firsthand how difficult the past 2/3 years have been; even walking became problematic and painful. Thankfully with the help of medicine researched and developed by Arthritis Research UK, Scotts condition has become manageable and stable. This has allowed him to regain fitness, and return to sport; something which he, and we all, probably take for granted sometimes.

Steven (Boosters to some) completes the riding team, and continues his worthy charitable work. He has notably cycled/ran/kayaked across continents in his efforts to raise money for the Princes Trust charity, back in 2008. Enough talk about Boosters in continents. Scott welcomes Stevens limited, I’ve not got a bike because someone stole it but i do have a helmet, experience to a duo that will share this rigorous endurance ride together.

So you don’t think John O’Groats to Lands End sounds that impressive. We can assure you it is! This cycle will cover 1000 miles across the whole of the UK. Still not impressive enough? We will ‘climb’ higher than the height of Everest, or twice the height of Kilimanjaro, or 15 times the height of Ben Nevis. If the punishing terrain alone isn’t impressive, we’re completing this journey in only 6 days! And one final thought for you – the two of us will complete this endurance cycle on a Tandem!

We would be grateful if you can find a few minutes to visit our sponsorship page, or come to see us in person. We would also be grateful if you can pass this on to your friends and family (or our friends that we’ve embarrassingly not sent this to).
