<p><span style="font-size: 18px; color: #333333; line-height: 27px;"> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"><img class="imageleft" style="float: left; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;" title="Josephine" src="http://www.streetchildafrica.org.uk/data/images/martinbell.gif" alt="Josephine" width="200" height="300" />Martin Bell is presenting the Radio 4 Appeal on behalf of Street Child Africa this Boxing Day.</p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Hundreds of children like Josephine (featured on the Radio4 Appeal) are living on the streets this Christmas.&nbsp; The reasons they have no parental care are numerous.&nbsp; Poverty, HIV/AIDS, armedconflict, domestic violence, substance abuse escaping from forced labour and trafficking. Many of them will not have any family around them this Christmas, and their dinner will be what they can beg or find in bins.&nbsp; They have no mother to tuck them into bed tonight or father to place a protective arm around their shoulder.&nbsp; Yet these children are the survivors, with the strength and tenacity to exist in a harsh environment that many of us cannot even imagine.&nbsp; These children are as precious as our own with dreams and hopes for the future.</p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Street Child Africa is working towards an Africa where all children are safe, loved and reach their potential.&nbsp; By listening to them we help to provide quality services that address their needs and fulfil their aspirations.</p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Thank you.&nbsp; We wish you&nbsp;a happy New Year.</p> </span></p>
