Story

A FURTHER UPDATE: SCI has been awarded funds for schistosomiasis treatment and Cote D'Ivoire will be a recipient country. I will be going there again in late January to start expansion. - Alan Fenwick
In 2011 we are aiming to continue to raise funds to enable treatment of a larger target group of the population of Cote D’Ivoire in West Africa. The group will comprise of those most at risk - children and rural workers, who represent 75% of the population.  Cote D’Ivoire is one of the 20 most under-developed countries in the world. We have excellent links with the Ministry of Health and there is significant understanding and support by the government that control of the NTDs is essential to improve the health and productivity of communities. Thus with relatively small amount of funding we can make a really significant impact.
