The challenge is to complete the 3,582 miles of Adventure Cycling Association's Southern Tier through the United States by Christmas. (52 days of cycling).

We will be travelling from West to East. The Southern Tier starts in San Diego, CA and finishes in St Augustine, FL. The states that we'll travel through are California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

The trip will be unsupported so each member has to get their bike (approx 37lbs/17kgs) plus luggage (camping gear etc 30lbs/14kgs) through 2 deserts over 2 mountain ranges and then across Texas and to Key West.

All three of us are looking forward to meeting like minded people, to share in their company and to experience authentic American hospitality.
