Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
AIMS:
We are raising money to support the victims of the recent Nepal Earthquake disaster. Villages, homes and lives have been lost.
HPN are raising money to help during:
1. the ACUTE phase: e.g. procuring medical equipment/ supplies for Nepali doctors/ friends who are setting off to the rural parts which are worst affected.
2. the RECOVERY phase: to help rebuild healthcare posts in affected villages and provide medical/ surgical aid to communities where healthcare facilities/ roads have been destroyed. HPN hope to organise a visit in the next few months once needs assessments have been completed.
HPN BACKGROUND:
HPN is a charitable healthcare link between St George’s University London and Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital (NMCTH) in Kathmandu. We have formed a strong partnership and since 2009 we have visited rural parts of Nepal, running outreach clinics and operating theatres to serve the communities with unmet healthcare needs. We have been involved in training doctors and local healthcare workers. Every year St George’s doctors, nurses and students have volunteered and led this project.
OTHER NOTES:
