Story
For many people with blood cancers, such as leukaemia, a stem cell transplant is their last chance of life. For a transplant to be a success, they need to find the right match. However, 70% of people who need a transplant are relying on finding a strange who's a match, and 50% never find a match, as a suitable donor isn't on the register.
To increase the chances of finding a match, we need more people on the register. We at St George's Marrow work with Anthony Nolan to recruit potential donors onto their stem cell register, and raises charitable funds to run these events.
It takes over £100 to sign up each person onto the register, which means we have to do lots of fundraising to try and be as cost-neutral as we can be!
Please help us raise as much as we possible can for such a great cause! Follow our progress on FaceBook and Twitter. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
