EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon 2009 · 11 October 2009 ·

Support Dogs is a national charity dedicated to increasing independence and improving the quality of life for children and adults affected by autism, epilepsy and physical disability. We train specialist assistance dogs to achieve this.

Story

I’m running again this October (11th) in the Birmingham Half Marathon....a step up from the 10K last time, and that’s the whole point....I’m aiming to keep going with this running malarkey, which I actually enjoy lots and in the process raise some money for charities that mean a lot to me.

This time I would like to raise money for ‘Support Dogs’....a charity which strives to connect trained support dogs (which are very often rescue dogs) with children and adults with disabilities (such as severe epilepsy, autism and physical disabilities). Support dogs become lifelong companions for those lucky enough to receive them and research has shown the amount of positive change this connection can bring.

For more information about the charity see: http://www.support-dogs.org.uk/what_we_do.htm

Please sponsor me....I will be running my socks off!
