Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In December 2011 our world was turned upside down when our then 10 year old daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

Currently there is no cure for this condition which means Grace will have to test her blood sugar levels by pricking her fingers and injecting insulin prior to every meal for the rest of her life. In 2012 Grace injected insulin in excess of 1,800 times and made over 2,000 finger prick blood tests.

On Sunday 9th June 2013 I, along with my old classmates from1982 Stewart Ball, Rich Manthorpe, Steve Rushen and Mark Hutchinson are walking 27 miles from Winchester Cathedral to Salisbury Cathedral. None of us are spring chickens or particularly fit so we thought walking the length of a marathon from Winchester to Salisbury in a day would be a worthy challenge! Our aim is to raise as many donations as possible to support the work of the JDRF for Grace and all the other Type 1 Diabetics and their families.
