Lochaber Mountain Rescue team is Scotland's busiest team, often carrying out more than 150 rescues a year. Run entirely by volunteers we rely on your generous donations to allow us to help those in need.

Story

As anybody familiar with the SSDT will know, the Lochaber Mountain Rescue are indispensible to us during the first week in May...whether it's riders, officials or competitors, LMR are there to help us out whenever someone is stranded off-road, come rain or shine, and it's normally rain.

As a token of our appreciation, a few of the SSDT committee and supporters have decided to take to the streets on Sunday 13th September in the hope of raising some much-needed cash for the Mountain Rescue team in Lochaber.  Mark Whitham (Clerk of the Course), Davy Robinson (Beardie Assistant Clerk #1), Ian Boyd (Beardie Assistant Clerk #2) and Mairi Jenkins (Secretary) have rounded up a crew to join them on an epic cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh and they're really hoping that SSDT enthusiasts, friends and family will get behind them to help exceed their target of £1500.  The cycle is over 55 miles, and bearing in mind that none of us are renowned for our skills on bikes without engines, it's a pretty hefty challenge!

Your sponsorship will be hugely appreciated by all of us, but particularly by the LMR team, so many thanks in anticipation!
