STAR Sleepout · 8 February 2013

ASSIST works with people in Sheffield who have been refused asylum in the UK. They are evicted from their Home Office accommodation and forced into destitution. We provide our clients with stable, dignified accommodation, regular financial support and a person-centred casework service.

Story

On Saturday 9th March, we'll be 'sleeping-out' for the night outside the University of Sheffield Students' Union in the hope of attracting some generous donations from you guys!
It brings us (nearly) to the end of an amazingly packed, interesting and inspiring week- a huge range of activities involving a whole host of societies and individuals from across the Students' Union and beyond to celebrate, raise awareness of, and fundraise for local initiatives for asylum seekers and refugees.
Visit our Facebook page for the full programme of events!

We're fundraising for ASSIST (Asylum Seeker Support Initiative- Short Term) here in Sheffield during REFUGEE WEEK 2013 to help them continue their amazing work as the only Sheffield charity seeking to address destitution among asylum seekers. The charity relies wholly on grants and donations from people like you- so give whatever you can, it really will make a difference to people in desperate need, and 'give something back' to the lovely city of Sheffield.
Find out more about them, where your money will go, and how to get involved, on the ASSIST webpage
