Blesma, The Limbless Veterans helps all serving and ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year instead of running a marathon I'll be climbing a marathon across the highest peaks in England, Scafell Pike (978m),  Scotland, Ben Nevis (1345m) and Wales, Snowdon (1085m) and all done in 48 hours..............easy!

I hope you can spare a few pounds for this very good cause. I'm going up a few hills but these people have a mountain to climb each and every day.

I am fundraising for Blesma, The Limbless Veterans which is dedicated to assisting serving and ex-Service men and women who have suffered life-changing limb loss or the use of a limb, an eye or loss of sight. We support these men and women in their communities throughout the UK.

Blesma work tirelessly for their Members when the conflicts that have affected their lives are no longer the focal point in the nation's media. Since 1932, they have been the only Service charity that supports limbless veterans for the duration of their lives. Their Members range from the youngest amputee veterans to those who fought in WWII, some having lived with limb loss for more than half a century. Modern medicine transforms the physical injury, but it is a complicated process to treat the emotional trauma and related lifelong problems.
