Imperial Health Charity helps their hospitals do more through grants, arts, volunteering and fundraising. They fund major redevelopments, research and medical equipment as well as helping patients and their families at times of extreme financial difficulty.

Story

Hi all, I am running the Royal Parks half marathon on 14th October to raise money for Poppy's Fund.

Poppy's Fund is a charitable fund set up under Imperial Health Charity, to assist with the funding that is required for maternity services at Queen Charlotte's Hospital. The fund aims to fundraise for various maternity departments and services. It hopes to help ensure that all parents who use the service have a positive maternity experience, whilst also minimising the risk through the provision of equipment, education and services.

The fund was set up following the stillbirth of Poppy Beatrice Hodgson, on 17th October 2017. Whilst her parents Carly and Roo (Roger) were inspired to set this fund up based on their experience, the Fund aims to benefit parents both in their situation as well as those taking their babies home.

Every penny raised for the fund will go towards much needed items and support. In addition to the maternity department's official requirements list, midwives and consultants are encouraged to request funding for training, education, equipment and contributions to ensure the wards are a safe and comfortable space for everyone. with the advice from the expert medical team on the ground, the fund prioritises spend on an ongoing basis and hopes to make a huge difference towards ensuring everyone takes their baby home safely.
