<p>In September 2010, 17 of us from URS\Scott Wilson travelled to South East Kenya with the charity <span style="font-family: Arial; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Scott Wilson Millennium Project <span style="font-family: Arial;">(millennium.project@scottwilson.com) and</span></span> <a href="http://www.excellentdevelopment.com/">Excellent Development</a> to help the Malaika community to build a sand dam that will provide them with a sustainable supply of clean water.</p>
<p>Working alongside the community to build their sand dam inspired us to do more so we're now raising funds to build a rainwater tank at one of the community’s primary schools.</p>
<p>The Kambali primary school doesn’t have it's own water supply and children have to spend time collecting water to bring with them to school which cuts into their study time, especially during times of drought when the walk to fetch water can take hours. A water tank will provide the school with an onsite supply of clean water, for drinking and cooking school meals as well as for improving hygiene.</p>
<p>The tank costs £8,899 with the labour provided by the local community. Scott Wilson’s charitable trust, The Scott Wilson Millennium Project has pledged to donate £5,136 towards the project and our team is raising the rest. Of course, we hope to smash our fundraising target so any extra money raised will go towards Excellent's work supporting communities in Kenya to have access to clean water and grow enough food to eat and sell. <br />Please help us to reach this target.</p>
