When I combatted depression a few years back, the Coventry Half Marathon in 2016 was my first run with Penny Appeal. This was my bit of medicine to fight the big D! That’s why I've teamed up with Team Orange once again and we are running the Coventry Half Marathon on the 18/03/2018 in aid of the Rohingya Crisis. I found taking part of something amazing whilst doing your bit to serve humanity really helped me get through the mental health barriers I was facing. I diverted my energies into an area I felt strongly passionate about, which was helping those desperately in need..

All the fundraising money will go towards our Emergency Rohingya Appeal. Over 600,000 Rohingya refugees have fled across the border from Myanmar to Bangladesh, leaving their burning homes behind. Considered the world’s most persecuted minority, many Rohingya minority people now live in the makeshift refugee camps of Bangladesh: they desperately need our help.

Penny Appeal are currently on the grounds in Bangladesh and Burma, delivering life-saving essential aid to those in the camps. Also providing food, hygiene and sanitation items, and clean water. We also rebuilt shelters that were destroyed or damaged.

£50 FOOD PACK - Our food packs contain nutritional items like pasta, rice, sugar and chickpeas and can support families for an entire month.

£100 FAMILY ESSENTIALS KIT - Simple things such as hygiene and sanitation items, clothes and blankets can make a big difference to the health of refugees.

£200 MEDICAL SUPPLY - Provide access to medication to a family.

£200 WATER SUPPLY  - Provide access to water to a family of 6-8 people. Water supplies and storage equipment – jars, jerry cans plus water purification tablets.

£350 SHELTER - Give a family warmth, security and protection by providing them with shelter.

£3,000 SHELTER - Each shelter can house eight families, providing warmth, security and protection.
