Story

On 25th March 2022 Our lovely Mel would have been 46! This year to celebrate Mel’s life and remember her we have decided our annual fundraising will be to walk, run or cycle at least 1 mile every day for 46 days, starting on Mel’s birthday, 25th March!

We know 1 mile doesn’t seem much, but with school, work, after school clubs and sport commitments this will be challenging!! I’m sure we will do our best to do more than 1 mile.

Myself, Jay (aged 13, almost 14)  and Liam (aged 12)  have all pledged to complete this. Gary will join us on some occasions too, but probably only walking as not sure his knee after his accident, operation and 6 month recovery is up-to cycling or running yet!!

Mel was such a huge part in all our lives, and she is greatly missed every day! This will be 8th birthday we have missed with Mel.

This will now be the 8th annual fundraiser we have completed. This started in 2015 when Jay was just 7, he wanted to raise funds in Auntie Mel memory so completed a 2 hours sponsored silence. We then made this an annual tradition, mainly Jay completing something with myself or the family involved too. In 2020 liam completed a year of wearing shorts!

St. Richards did so much to support Mel and the family and are an amazing charity that deserve every penny we can raise. So please donate anything you can.
