emerge poverty free believes that every child should be free to follow their own path in life rather than a destiny fixed by where they are born. emerge poverty free empowers people to fight poverty themselves.

Story

I am running my FIRST ever HALF MARATHON on the 10th October 2010.  My aims are:

1) To finish the race with no major mishap

2) To raise at least £500 for World Emergency Relief.

That's 13.1 miles, or 21km I will be running - I hope it's enough to encourage you to sponsor me and donate some money to my chosen charity, World Emergency Relief (WER).

WER is a leading international relief and development organisation, working in response to provide emergency medical aid in developing countries affected by natural disaster, as well as working in partnership with local community leaders to develop long-term sustainable solutions in key areas such as healthcare and education.  Your money could help poverty stricken children in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Central America and the Caribbean.

88.7p for every £1 you give will go directly on supporting projects and emergency aid.

Your support will help drive every step and every breath in the upcoming months, whilst I prepare for the big day.  Please give as much or as little as you would like to - every pound and penny will be greatly appreciated and mean a lot to me.

Donating through JustGiving will help me collect Gift Aid for WER if you are a UK taxpayer, and is the most efficient way of making a contribution.  So please take the time to make a contribution through this JustGiving page.  Your details will be safe and secure, I promise!

xx Sabrina
