RideLondon-Surrey 100 2013 · 4 August 2013 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I’m riding 100 miles for Cancer Research. Yes, all in one go. You may not think I look like a natural athlete but that’s why you should sponsor me. 100 miles is like taking a ride down to Brighton and then hopping straight back on and riding all the way back. Or for those more northern minded of you, from Hull all the way to Manchester. One way of course, but why would you want to return to Hull anyway?

Cancer is a horrible disease and we all know someone who’s been affected by it. Some of them make it through. Others sadly don’t .  And so to raise money for Cancer Research UK I’m going to endure chafing, bum bruises, run-ins with taxis and other four-wheeled vehicles and my wife’s disapproval of my muddy and sweat soaked clothing. And that’s got to be worth a quid or two – right?
