Story
In Northern Gaza, a hospital is facing regular power cuts significantly restricting its ability to provide essential patient care (Al-Karama hospital). Currently, when there is a power cut, it is relying on backup generators that are becoming too expensive to maintain as they run on diesel fuel. With the military siege continuing, fuel for these generators is also becoming increasingly difficult to obtain.
To solve this problem, myself and my team of 100 (Hope & Knowledge Cycle Club) have pledged to raise a target of £30,000 to help purchase and install solar panels on top of Al-Karama hospital. These solar panels will provide free renewable energy and significantly reduce the hospitals dependency on the diesel-fuelled generators.
We will be doing an 80-mile cycle from London to Portsmouth on the 27th of April 2019. I have never cycled before but this cause is the reason I have taken it up. I hope with enough of your help we can achieve our target amount.
I appreciate any help that can be given and thank you very much for all of your donations and support.
