Between the 5th November and the 12th November 2011 I will attempt a 100km trek across the Sahara Desert in aid of the Noahs Ark Appeal.
The expedition will take me through the Jebel Saghro region, a forbidding landscape punctuated by stark peaks, formidable gorges and bright oasis. Situated south of the Atlas and Dades Gorge, this is the land of the famous Ait Atta tribe, a nation of great warriors who migrate here annually.
I will cross the Maider El Kbir plateau and head into a challenging climb up Jebel Lamrakeb. The climb is then followed by a traverse down O'Hare Gorge and on to the dry Rhis River.
Sleeping in Bedouin tents, followed by a train of camels, sand in places it has no business and snakes (I hate snakes)...the trek will prove a huge mental and physical challenge.
The trek is 100% self-funded and so every penny raised will go to the Noahs Ark Appeal and make a difference. Thank you in advance for being so generous.
